Research

My research revolves around different themes.

The first theme is international migration, transnationalism and cultural diversity. This includes a long-term interest in Chinese migration and related labor and social issues in Europe and migrants contribution to city making.

I am also interested in anthropology of policies. I am now conducting research on the intersection of law enforcement and city management, with a focus on selective law enforcement, based on ethnicity.

The pandemic pushes me to also focus analytical attention on the new China’s diaspora governance strategies and their effects on the Chinese diasporics in Europe.
