Anthony Dion Mitzel is an adjunct professor of linguistics, language and culture at the Università di Bologna, Italy. He did his graduate work at University College London (UK) with a PhD dissertation entitled “Authenticity and Ephemerality: The Memes of Trancultural Production In Italian American Culture which focuses on the expression of Italian culture around the world. His work has been published in books and journals in Italy and the United States while his research interests includes Italian Americana, Humor Studies, Linguistics, Philosophy of Memes and Semiotics. Mitzel is currently directing and producing the documentary film “Our Lady”.
