Teaching Black Italy summer course
“"Teaching Black Italy", the professional development course for Professors and Teachers of Italian in collaboration with AATI - American Association Teachers of Italian is launching the third edition in July 2023. The last two editions and full immersion weekend have been joined by 175 participants. 3 sessions (July 3, July 10, and July 17), from Monday to Friday from 11 AM to 13 EST Time ( 17-19 Italy Time) Participants will learn about the origins of Black Italy and the diverse composition, culture, and stories of Black Italians in different historical times, frameworks, and topics. This course is not designed to provide just information but to offer pedagogical tools to diversify and decolonize your syllabi and support you in designing syllabi on Black Italy and help you provide a selected didactic tool and methodology that can also help you save time searching for materials and resources.
