In December 1991, he graduated with a degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Bologna.

In 1997, he obtained a specialisation diploma in Toxicology from the School of Specialisation in Toxicology at the University of Bologna.

In the 1999/2000 academic year, he obtained a PhD in Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology from the University of Naples Federico II.

In November 2000, she began working as a researcher in the Pharmacology and Toxicology Section of the Department of Veterinary Public Health and Animal Pathology, now the Department of Veterinary Medical Sciences, of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Bologna.

Since November 2007, she has been based at the Cesenatico campus of the Department of Veterinary Medical Scienes, Degree Course in Aquaculture and Fish Production Hygiene, University of Bologna.

Since October 2020, she has been an associate professor at the Department of Veterinary Medical Sciences at the University of Bologna.

Since 2020, she has been a member of RENTIC (National Register of Certified Italian Toxicologists) and ERT (European Registered Toxicologist).

She participated in the Workshop on Pharmacokinetics organised by the European College of Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology, held in Toulouse from 6 to 10 September 1999.

She participated in the course ‘Toxicological Risk Assessment’, held as part of the ‘Postgraduate Education in Toxicology’ programme at the University of Wageningen from 30 September 2001 to 10 October 2001.

She participated in the CASCADE SPRING SCHOOL on ‘Food Safety and Environment: Health Risk Assessment. A focus on endocrine active compounds (EACs): genistein, vinclozolin, bisphenol A and dioxin’, held in Orvieto from 3 to 10 April 2005

She participated in the course ‘Ninth European Seminar on Marine Mammals: Biology and Conservation’, held in Valencia from 3 to 7 September 2012.

She participated in the advanced training course ‘Cetaceans of the Mediterranean Sea: management and conservation’, held at the University of Padua.

Since 2017, he has been a member of the Scientific Committee of the European Association Aquatic Mammal
