Researcher at the University of Bologna since 2019 (type B researcher). The research interests are related to the ultrastructural aspects of enamel and dentin and to the mechanical properties of dental biomaterials and their interaction with the tooth substrate. She currently focuses her research on the analysis of interactions between hard oral tissue and biomaterials used in dental surgery.
Training
Graduated in Dentistry in 2005 at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Bologna. PhD in Human and Molecular Morphological Sciences at the University of Bologna in 2009.

Research fellow at the University of Bologna and at the Ramses Laboratory, Rizzoli Department of Research Innovation & Technology - Rizzoli Orthopedic Institute in Bologna.
Full-time researcher in 2012 (Type A) in MED/28 (Odontostomatologic Sciences) at the University of Trieste, Department of Surgical and Health Sciences. Researcher (type A) 2016-2019 and type B 2019-2021 at the University of Bologna, DIBINEM Department. Since 2021 Associate Professor at the same Department.
Teaching activity
From 2012 to 2015 teaching activities for the Degree in Dental Hygiene and for the Speciaization Schools in Oral Surgery and Orthodontics at the Department of Medical Sciences, University of Trieste. Since 2015, she has been teaching for the Master in Aesthetic and Restorative Dentistry and since 2017 for the Degree in Dentistry and Dental Hygiene at the Department of Biomedical Sciences and Neurosciences, University of Bologna.
Scientific activity
Active participation in numerous national and international research programs. Since 2005, research has been characterized by important collaborations with different research laboratories of foreign universities, including research periods abroad. Reviewer of scientific articles for numerous international journals. Author of more than 130 papers with impact factors with a H-index = 42 (www.scopus.com).
