Curriculum vitae

Graduated in Cultural Heritage Conservation at the University of Bologna (2000), she obtained a specialization in Archaeology (2004) and a Ph.D. degree (2008) with a thesis entitled Productions and Commerce in Phoinike and Northern Epirus through the study of black gloss pottery.

Since her early years as a student she has participated in numerous archaeological excavations in Italy (Pompeii, Marzabotto, Suasa, Galeata) and abroad (Phoinike, Alésia) and over time she has specialized in the management (cataloguing, classification, study) of the finds that emerged during the excavations themselves: she participates as head of this sector of research in the excavations of Galeata (2000-2005, 2014-2016), Suasa (from 2005 to present) and Phoinike (from 2000 to present).

Her teaching activity took place both in the field, always involving students in the recognition of the finds and their documentation, and in the classroom, at the University of Bologna: initially she collaborated with professors Sandro de Maria and Luisa Mazzeo Saracino in their teachings, then she held the autonomous teachings of Archaeology of Handicraft Production in the Ancient World (AA 2010/2011) and Archaeology of the Roman Provinces (starting from AA 2017/2018). In parallel, at the same university, she held training workshops aimed at providing students with the basic notions for the documentation and study of archaeological finds, with particular reference to ceramics from the Hellenistic and Imperial Roman periods.

Her main field of interest is the study of Hellenistic fine ceramics found in ancient Epirus, the subject of a recent monographic publication (2016), but also of amphorae found in the Adriatic area.

These interests lead her to participate in several national and international conferences focused on the study of ancient ceramics (organized by rei cretariae romanae fautores and international assiciation for research on pottery of the hellenistic period), but also on various topics such as the expansion of Rome in the Italic peninsula and provincial territories or funerary archaeology.
