WORK EXPERIENCE
In November 2021, I worked as a trainer for the Ministry of Education at the Regional School Office for Emilia-Romagna, within a project dedicated to the inclusion of students with disabilities. I was responsible for training teachers of all school levels, focusing on current legislation, the interpretation of diagnostic documentation, the analysis of Individualized Education Plan (IEP) models, and the design of inclusive teaching interventions.
Since 2019, I have been a tenured teacher at the Scientific High School “L. da Vinci” in Casalecchio di Reno (BO), where I teach Natural Sciences, Chemistry and Biology (A050) and work as a special education teacher (AD01). My work is centered on personalized learning and supporting students who experience difficulties in scientific subjects.
Previously, I taught at the High School “L. Bassi” (2017–2019) and at the Technical Institute “G. Salvemini” (2015–2017), holding similar positions in science education and special education support. Between 2010 and 2015, I gained further fixed-term teaching experience in several state upper secondary schools in the province of Bologna, strengthening my expertise in inclusion and the adaptation of teaching activities.
Between 2008 and 2013, I taught at the private schools “M. Malpighi” in Bologna, both at lower secondary level (Mathematics and Science) and upper secondary level (Natural Sciences and laboratory activities).
From 2006 to 2008, I served as coordinator of educational projects at the Fondazione Ritiro San Pellegrino – Gestione Licei “M. Malpighi”, where I was also responsible for applying for public and private funding.
In 2007, I collaborated with the National Institute for the Development of School Autonomy (INDIRE) as a consultant for the review of educational articles.
Between September 2004 and November 2005, I worked at Bioikos Ambiente s.r.l., a consultancy firm specializing in environment, safety and quality. I managed consultancy procedures for companies, particularly processes related to environmental and safety compliance.
At the same time, I developed significant experience in environmental education. I collaborated with the Regional Park of the Suviana and Brasimone Lakes (2004–2006) as head and coordinator of educational activities, visitor centers and park guides, overseeing environmental education projects, event organization and relations with public authorities. I also carried out wildlife monitoring activities at the Amphibian Center in Pianoro.
Throughout my career, I have developed strong expertise in inclusive teaching, educational planning, project coordination and the promotion of environmental sustainability, consistently focusing on accessibility and on enhancing each student’s potential.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
I am currently in the third year of my PhD in Philosophy, Science, Cognition, and Semiotics (PSCS) at the University of Bologna. My research project focuses on Citizen Science, examining its humanistic and social dimensions, methodologies, and the impact on participants engaging in Citizen Science activities across both scientific and humanistic fields.
Throughout my academic journey, I have built a comprehensive and focused education, consistently aimed at promoting inclusive teaching and innovating educational practices.
Between 2011 and 2015, I obtained three Postgraduate Specialization Diplomas (1500 hours – 60 ECTS credits each) at the University for Foreigners “Dante Alighieri”:
- Theory and Methods of Collaborative Learning (2011–2012),
- Strategies and Methods of Intervention on Disability in Educational Contexts (2013–2014),
- Theory and Methods of Using Multimedia Technologies in Teaching (2014–2015).
These programs enabled me to deepen my knowledge of inclusive methodologies, disability-related strategies, and the use of multimedia technologies, with particular focus on scientific subjects in secondary education.
In 2013–2014, at the University of Bologna, I completed the Special Qualifying Pathway (PAS), obtaining:
- qualification for class A059: Mathematics and Science in lower secondary school.
At the University of Ferrara, I attended the School of Specialization for Secondary Teaching (SISS), obtaining:
- in 2008–2009, qualification for class A060: Natural Sciences, Chemistry, Geography and Microbiology in upper secondary school;
- in 2009–2010, qualification for Special Education Support in upper secondary school.
In 2004, I obtained a Second-Level Master’s Degree as Environmental/Safety Manager with expertise in environmental accounting (500 hours), focusing on environmental management systems, quality systems, and ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and EMAS certifications, including an internship at a specialized consultancy firm.
Between 2003 and 2004, I qualified as an Environmental Operator for the Protected Areas of the Province of Bologna, following a 400-hour theoretical and practical course on regional natural parks.
I graduated in Natural Sciences (single-cycle degree, pre-reform system) from the University of Bologna in December 2003 (108/110), with a specialization in Nature Conservation and Natural Resources. I completed an experimental thesis in Comparative Anatomy after a two-year internship at the University’s Laboratory of Evolutionary and Experimental Biology.
In 1997, I obtained a Teaching Diploma from the Teacher Training Institute “L. Bassi” in Bologna (54/60), qualifying to teach in primary and preschool education.
Overall, my educational background combines strong scientific expertise, pedagogical training, and specialization in inclusive and innovative teaching.
