Curriculum vitae

Dr. Andrea Giusti is currently serving as a Junior Assistant Professor of Theoretical Physics at the Department of Physics and Astronomy of the University of Bologna.

Over his career, Dr. Giusti has contributed approximately 85 articles published in international peer-reviewed journals. His main research interests focus on classical and quantum aspects of gravitation.

During his doctoral studies, conducted jointly at LMU Munich and the University of Bologna, Dr. Giusti extensively investigated the corpuscular model of gravity.

At Bishop’s University, as a postdoctoral researcher, Dr. Giusti focused his research efforts on modified theories of gravity, specifically on scalar-tensor theories.

At ETH Zurich, first as an MSCA-IF postdoctoral fellow and later as a postdoc and adjunct lecturer, Dr. Giusti focused his research on two topics: the thermodynamics of scalar-tensor theories and the coherent state formalism for quantum black holes.

Lastly, at the University of Sussex, as a postdoc within the QSNET collaboration, Dr. Giusti continued his research on coherent quantum black holes and the thermodynamics of modified gravity theories.

Alongside his work in fundamental physics, Dr. Giusti has pursued research in mathematical physics, particularly in continuum mechanics.

Dr. Giusti is currently a member of the editorial boards of two international scientific journals published by Springer (The European Physical Journal Plus and Fractional Calculus and Applied Analysis).
