Andrea Brunello

Researcher, playwright, director, actor and science communicator, Andrea Brunello works at the boundary between theatre and science. He trained at the three-year "SAT - School After Theatre" programme led by Jurij Alschitz, affiliated with the EATC/Russian Academy of Theatre Arts (GITIS) in Moscow. He holds a BA in physics and mathematics from Cornell and a Ph.D. in Physics from Stony Brook University, and a Master in Science Communication (SCICOMM) from the University of Trento, where he teaches science storytelling, as he does at the University of Bologna (Physics and Astronomy). He founded and directs Portland Theatre in Trento and the Arditodesìo Company, has curated the Jet Propulsion Theatre project since 2012 and, since 2017, is artistic director of Teatro della Meraviglia, an annual science theatre festival. He sits on the scientific committee of "Theatre about Science - International Conference" (Coimbra) and on the board of EUSEA, the European Science Engagement Association. Go to the Curriculum vitae
