RESEARCH ACTIVITIES
His scientific activity is mainly oriented towards technology of architecture.
His field of expertise:
- environmental sustainability and quality of buildings and urban systems;
- Innovative solutions in terms of materials, technologies and construction systems;
- Improving performance and energy efficiency of the building stock;
- Climate responsive strategies in regeneration processes at building and district scale;
- Renovation strategies for buildings of public interest, such as schools and social housing.
His research covers a broad range of topics such as architectural technologies, materials performances and construction elements. His field of expertise is technologies for improving energy efficiency as well as quality and environmental control in buildings, the relationship between context, architectural design and sustainable technologies and technological innovation in the construction sector.
Some of the most specific area of interest: the historical and cultural heritage related to rural buildings, sustainable design of school buildings, social housing redevelopment.
