I was born on 22 September 1966 in Rovereto - Autonomous County of Trento - Italy

Since 2nd May 2020, I have been appointed as an associate professor of Business Law at the University of Bologna (Italy)

Currently, I lecture Non Profit and Cooperative law, law of Public-private partnerships, Law and Business and Public Economic Law.

Currently, I am also serving on supervisory and monitoring board of both public-owned companies and health care agencies and non profit health care organisations.

From 1990 through 1993: Ph.D. in Comparative Company Law at the Faculty of Law, University of Cambridge (Hughes Hall College) (UK) under the supervision of Professor L. Sealy. The Ph.D. thesis was mainly concerned with the development of the different company forms in Europe and U.S.A. over the nineteenth century up to mid-‘50s. In particular, the thesis took into consideration the question of limited liability and the role of the authorities of the State in economy. (The Ph.D. was funded through one scholarship granted by the British Council and one granted by the University of Padua)

22 September 1993: viva voce dissertation of the Ph.D. thesis at the University of Cambridge.

1988/1989: working on the first degree thesis at the Faculty of Law, University of Cambridge (UK), thanks to a scholarship granted by the European Student Exchange Erasmus Programme.

28 February 1990: graduated from the Faculty of Political Science at the University of Padua with the highest grade cum laude, by submitting and discussing a thesis on “A legal and historical comparison between Italian and British charities during the period 1800-1942”.

28th-30th June 2015: Visiting Scholar - The University of Sheffield - The School of Law - The Sheffield Health Law and Policy Research Centre

From January 2000 to December 2013, I was lecturer on Non profit Law and Public Law of Health and social care systems at the Faculty of Sociology at  the University of Trento 

I was a visiting professor at the MCI (Management Centre Innsbruck) from 2015 through 2019.

Main research areas: Legal, organisational and comparative aspects of Non profit organisations, health and social care services, public authorities, PPPs (Public-private partnerships)

Frome December 2015 through 2020: served as Secretary-General of the European Association of Patients and Users of Thermal Centres (www.eaptc.net)

2005-2011: SERVED AS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER OF TWO PUBLIC AGENCIES ENGAGED, RESPECTIVELY, IN THE HEALTH SECTOR AND IN THE ENERGY, WATER SUPPLY AND SERVICES OF GENERAL INTEREST SECTORS

In 2005, I took part in the steering committee that drafted the Directive 24/2011/UE concerning patients' rights to access cross-border healthcare

Languages: fluent English (both writing and spoken) - Good German and Spanish - Basic French (comprehension)

According to Section 15.1, letter c) of the Italian 2013 Act No. 33 and to the provisions of the law No. 445/2000, I hereby declare that I served as a member on the Thermalism Board established by the Autonomous County of Trento from 28 October 2014 through 2017.
