Full professor of Elements of architecture and urban planning at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Ravenna, qualified as full professor in Sector 08/E2: Restoration and History of Architecture (session 2012; duration 2014 - 17 February 2023). He carries out his research in the history of Renaissance and contemporary architecture. In particular, his studies focus on the thought and work of Leon Battista Alberti.
Education
Graduated in Architecture at the Milan Polytechnic in 1986; PhD in Conservation of Architectural Heritage (IV Cycle) in 1993; winner of the competition for the award of a post-doctoral scholarship in Conservation of Architectural Heritage (1994-1996); winner of a research grant for "Conservation and recovery projects of historic Lombard centers", organized by the Politecnico di Milano (1999).
Academic career
After a few years of contract teaching at the Milan Polytechnic (1996-2002, for teaching Theory and history of restoration), he obtained the role of professor of Elements of architecture and urban planning in 2001, teaching at the Academy of Fine Arts in Turin (2001-2003), at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice (2003 to 31 December 2022) and now, from 1 January 2023, at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Ravenna.
Teaching activity
He carried out teaching activities at the Politecnico di Milano, School of Architecture (1996-2002), as tenured professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Turin (2001-2003), from 2003 to 31 December 2022 he carried out this activity at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice; from 1995 to 31 December 2022 as a contract professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ravenna; from 2019 to today as a contract professor at the Alma Mater Studiorum-University of Bologna-Ravenna Campus; from 2020 to today as a contract professor at the Faculty of Philosophy of the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in Milan; from 1 January 2023 to today he is a professor at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Ravenna.
