Curriculum vitae

Professor of the first level of Elements of architecture and urban planning and of History of contemporary architecture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, qualified as a second-level university professor in the Sector 08 / E2: Restoration and History of Architecture (2012 round) duration 2014-2020). He carries out his research in the history of Renaissance architecture and contemporary age. In particular, his studies focus on the thought and work of Leon Battista Alberti.

Education

Graduated in Architecture at the Milan Polytechnic in 1986; PhD in Conservation of Architectural Heritage (IV Cycle) in 1993; winner of the competition for the award of a post-doctoral scholarship in Conservation of Architectural Heritage (1994-1996); winner of a research grant for "Conservation and recovery projects of historic Lombard centers", organized by the Politecnico di Milano (1999).

Academic career

After several years of contract teaching at the Politecnico di Milano (1996-2002, for the teaching of Theory and history of restoration), he took the role as professor of Elements of architecture and urban planning in 2001, teaching at the Academy of Fine Arts in Turin (2001-2003) and then at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice (2003 to present).

Teaching activity

He did early teaching at the Milan Polytechnic (1996-2002) and at the Turin Academy of Fine Arts (2001-2003); from 2003 to today he has been carrying out this activity as a tenured teacher at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice; from 1995 to today as a lecturer at the Ravenna Academy of Fine Arts; since 2020 as an adjunct professor at the Faculty of Philosophy of the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University of Milan.

Member of the Gramsci Circle of Ravenna from 1990 to 2002; he has organized conferences with Marco Biraghi, Alberto Boatto, Massimo Cacciari, Francesco Dal Co, Fabrizio Desideri, Marco Dezzi Bardeschi, Lucio Gambi, Gianni Scalia, Manfredo Tafuri, Manuel Vázquez Montalbán.

Member of the "Ravenna Capital" Foundation, from 2003 to 2013 and President for the three-year period 2007-2010; he has organized conferences with Marco Bertozzi, Guglielmo Bilancioni, Marco Biraghi, Massimo Cacciari, Franco Cardini, Paolo Fabbri, Eugenio Russo.
