Adjunct professor at the University of Bologna since 2011, he teaches Computational Tools and Information Technology for Arts Organisations within the GIOCA master’s degree program. With more than 20 years of experience, he combines a technical background in computer science with consolidated managerial expertise in strategic communication, digital transformation, and the development of projects at the intersection of technology, culture, and creativity.
Professional experience
He is founder and CEO of Digital Paths, a benefit corporation that integrates design, technology, and communication to support public institutions, universities, cultural organizations, and major companies in their digital innovation processes. He has led multidisciplinary teams and communication programs for organizations such as the European Commission, the Metropolitan City of Bologna, TIM, Discovery, Alibaba, Google, and the University of Bologna, introducing data-driven approaches and impact measurement tools.
From 2008 to 2019, he was co-founder and Communication Director of the ROBOT Festival, helping establish it as an international reference point for electronic music and digital arts, with more than 35,000 annual visitors and global partnerships (Sónar, Boiler Room). Previously, he coordinated the TIM WCAP business accelerator in Bologna, selecting and supporting over 100 digital startups, and worked as Senior ICT Manager at Engineering Ingegneria Informatica, where he developed open data and citizen engagement projects for the Municipality of Bologna and the Foundation for Urban Innovation. His career began as a full-stack developer at AlmaDL – the University of Bologna’s Digital Library, where he first combined technical expertise with scientific communication.
Academic and research activity
In his teaching activity, he has developed an approach that integrates computational tools, scientific communication, and project-based learning. His research focuses on the impact of digital technologies and data on cultural and creative processes, with particular attention to digital transformation strategies, cultural storytelling, and the relationship between digital arts, technological innovation, and communication practices.
