Adriano Ferraresi

I am an Associate Professor in English Language and Translation at the University of Bologna (since 2019), and a member of the Board of the Doctorate in Translation, Interpreting and Intercultural Studies of the same University. My main research interests are in the field of construction of linguistic resources, and I have been involved in several collaborative corpus construction projects, including the WaCky and EPTIC initiatives, the Eurolect Observatory and CHEU-lex. On the more descriptive side, my work focuses on corpus-based investigations of phraseology and terminology in native, translated and lingua franca varieties of English. I teach an MA module on translation technologies. I have given invited seminars on corpus linguistics and statistics at various Italian and European universities. I am the PI of the national PRIN project "UNITE – Universally Inclusive Technologies to practice English" (2023-2025). I currently serve on the board of the European Master’s in Translation (EMT) network (2024–2029 mandate) and on the scientific advisory board of the Institute for applied linguistics of the Eurac Research centre.
