Stefania Albonetti is Full Professor at the University of Bologna, Italy. She obtained her PhD in Industrial Chemistry from the same university in 1996. She subsequently worked at Alusuisse - Lonza in Bergamo (Italy), where she was responsible for the Catalysis Department. In June 2001, she joined the Department of Industrial Chemistry and Materials at the University of Bologna.
She is co-author of 15 international patents, more than 150 papers published in international journals, 8 book chapters, and over 300 communications presented at national and international conferences.
From 2013 to 2021, she coordinated the Erasmus Mundus Doctorate Programme in Industrial Sustainable Chemistry (SINCHEM).
Her scientific interests focus on the technological applications of materials science and heterogeneous catalysis aimed at addressing environmental challenges, particularly through the design of innovative materials for more environmentally friendly industrial processes.
She is currently Director of the Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Chemical Methodologies for Products and Processes.
