Zoe Lauri

Research fellow in History of Science (M-STO/05) in the framework of the PRIN 2022 project Musealising the Italian Scientist (1839-1939): Practices, Narratives, Memories, at the Department of Philosophy and Communication of the University of Bologna.

I am about to defend my PhD thesis in History of Science entitled The Natural History of the Risorgimento. Science, Environment and Nation-building in Nineteenth-century Italy, completed under the supervision of Prof. Stéphane Van Damme at the Department of History of the European University Institute (EUI) in Fiesole.

In 2022 I was Visiting PhD at the Centre Alexandre-Koyré of the École des hautes études en sciences sociales (EHESS), supervised by Prof. Alice Ingold.

Since 2022 I am "Cultrice della materia" (subject expert) in History of Science at the Department of Philosophy of the University of Florence.

My research interests include the history of natural sciences between the 19th and 20th centuries, the history of science in Italy, the relationship between nationalism, science and nature, and environmental history.
