Yasaman Yousef is a Researcher at the University of Bologna, specializing in AI ethics, regulation, and governance. Her research explores General-Purpose AI systems and systemic risks, addressing the technical, legal, and ethical challenges posed by emerging technologies. She contributes to the development of risk taxonomies and compliance frameworks, with a particular focus on the EU AI Act.
She is currently involved in the IT4LIA project, developing compliance methodologies within the context of AI Factories, and collaborates on the EUSAiR project on regulatory sandboxes for artificial intelligence.
She holds an LL.M. in Sustainable Development from the University of Milan, and a PhD in Law, Science and Technology from the University of Bologna. Her doctoral thesis, The Quest for AI Fairness: Ethical, Legal, and Technical Solutions, examined fairness in automated decision-making through an interdisciplinary lens that integrates social, ethical, legal, and technical perspectives.
