Vittorio Larotonda

PhD candidate in Theoretical Physics at the Department of Physics and Astronomy “Augusto Righi” of the University of Bologna, under the supervision of Dr. Ling Lin.

His research focuses on string theory and quantum field theory, with particular emphasis on non-supersymmetric string theories. Main interests include anomalies and anomaly inflow, global aspects of gauge symmetries, discrete topological terms, string dualities, M-theory constructions, and asymmetric orbifolds with vanishing one-loop cosmological constant. Further interests include generalized symmetries, quantum gravity, and the Swampland program.

Research visits include IFT Madrid and Kavli IPMU Tokyo. He has participated in numerous international conferences with scientific contributions and has given invited seminars and talks at universities and research institutes across Italy, Europe, and Japan.
