Valentina Manchia

Valentina Manchia, PhD, is Adjunct Professor at Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna, as well as at the Politecnico di Milano, ISIA Urbino, and ISIA Faenza. She is also a member of CROSS Research Centre – Centro di Ricerca Omar Calabrese di Semiotica e Scienze dell’immagine. Her work focuses on the interaction between the verbal and the visual and on the boundaries between representation and visualization. She is particularly interested in visual communication, data visualization, and information design. Her research methods are in the fields of semiotics, visual semiotics, image studies, and visual studies.
