Short Bio

Tyler is a Research Fellow working as part of the research group 'Planning and Regeneration' at the Department of Architecture of the University of Bologna, contributing to the Horizon Europe projects RURACTIVE and RescueME, which are designed to empower rural communities in Europe toward a sustainable and just future. His work focuses on developing innovative frameworks for community-led solutions, integrating climate change mitigation, biodiversity conservation, and social justice.

He completed a Master’s in Global Change Ecology & Sustainable Development at the University of Bologna, after earning a Bachelor’s in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Sydney. Additionally, he has worked in ESG consulting, helping organisations implement practical sustainability strategies.

He also volunteers as Leader of Timor-Leste Programs at youth-led not-for-profit Educating The Future Australia, focusing on improving the access and quality of preschool education in rural and remote communities in Timor-Leste.
