Tommaso Tonetti

Born on May 23rd, 1987, in Venice (Italy).

Associate Professor at the University of Bologna since 2022, previously (2019-2022) Assistant Professor at the same institution. Specialist in Anesthesia, Resuscitation, Intensive Care, and Pain Medicine since 2018, providing clinical care as a Consultant in the field of General Intensive Care.

Conducts research in the field of intensive care medicine, with a particular interest in the physiopathology, diagnosis, and treatment (including extracorporeal techniques) of acute respiratory failure (ARDS), and mechanical ventilation-induced lung injury (VILI). Author of more than 80 publications in indexed journals. Speaker at numerous international and national congresses.

Since September 2023, Director of the Residency Program (“Specialization School”) in Anesthesia, Resuscitation, Intensive Care, and Pain Medicine.

Since April 2024, acting Director of the Department of Anesthesiology and General Intensive Care Unit at the IRCCS Azienda Ospedaliero-Unviersitaria di Bologna.
