Stefano Ciurli is Full Professor of General and Inorganic Chemistry. He graduated with honors in Chemistry from the University of Pisa in 1986, with a thesis carried out at Columbia University (New York, USA), and earned a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Harvard University in 1990. After two years of postdoctoral research at the University of Bologna, he began his academic career in 1992 as Associate Professor; since 2001, he has been Full Professor. His research focuses on structure-function relationships in metalloproteins, investigated through biochemical and biophysical methods, with implications for human health and the environment. He has authored more than 200 scientific publications, delivered over 100 international lectures, and is currently Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Inorganic Biochemistry.
