Curriculum vitae

Stefano Besoli is Professor of Theoretical Philosophy in the Department of Philosophy and Communication Studies at the University of Bologna. He has done research mainly on epistemological issues, with a special emphasis on the conceptual problems of German post-Hegelian philosophy. He has published books on Lotze, Windelband, Husserl and on phenomenology of knowledge, as well as a number of articles concerning the theory of truth and of judgment, the philosophy of perception, and the relationships between logic and psychology in both the phenomenological and the Neokantian tradition. He has edited and translated works by Brentano, Twardowski, Husserl, Reinach and Scheler. He has been editor of volumes on neocriticism, the notion of state of affairs, phenomenological realism, neokantianism and phenomenology, L. Binswanger and the phenomenological Psychopathology. He has been editor of special issues on W. James. Th. Lipps, Stumpf, Scheler and Bolzano. He is the editor of the journal "Discipline Filosofiche" and of two series: "Quodlibet Studio“ Discipline Filosofiche" and "Le forme dell'anima".
