Description:
The School of Advanced Advanced Studies in Social Sciences pertains VI section of the Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes created in 1947 by Lucien Febvre. For three decades, the school continues a research work on social science as an epistemological domain its own and as an interdisciplinary exchange area animated by a common theme: the man in society. Fernand Braudel's successor as President of the Sixth Section of the Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes in 1972, Jacques le Goff sanctions the nascista an autonomous institution: the School of High Studies in Social Sciences (EHESS), which is created by decree on 25 January 1975. Jacques le Goff establishes branches of the School outside Paris to Brest, Lyon, Marseille and Toulouse. The nature of collaboration is in place for the joint supervision of PhD texts which is followed by Prof. Alain Musset, directeur d'études at the EHESS.
