Short Bio

Simone Papale is Teaching Tutor at the Department of Political and Social Sciences of the University of Bologna. He works as Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Law, Politics and International Studies of the University of Parma. Simone holds a PhD in International Relations without corrections from the University of Nottingham (UK).

Simone has published articles in high-impact journals and has teaching experience in the area of social sciences and international relations. His research findings have been presented in several international conferences and his research activity has been acknowledged with awards such as the Founders Fund award (British International Studies Association, 2020), the Michael Cowan Scholarship and the SPIR Best PhD Thesis Award (University of Nottingham 2021, 2022).

Simone’s research agenda has a strong interdisciplinary character. His interests include framing processes, contemporary warfare, as well as dynamics of counter-terrorism and mobilisation to political violence, especially in the African continent.
