Simone Bari

Simone Bari is a PhD student in Automotive Engineering for Intelligent Mobility at the University of Bologna. His research focuses on the modelling, design and characterization of isolated DC-DC converters (flyback) for EV applications, with emphasis on magnetic component design, operating-point analysis and loss modelling (MATLAB/Simulink, LTspice, Altium Designer, MAGNETIsIM). He holds an MSc in Electronic Engineering from the University of Parma (110/110), with a thesis on a 600-24V DC-DC flyback converter (700W) for the UniPR Racing Team (Formula Student) vehicle, gaining experience in power electronics design, PCB and laboratory testing; and a BSc in Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering from Politecnico di Bari (103/110). He tutors Electrical Engineering at the University of Parma. From October 2026 he will be a visiting researcher at the Center for Automotive Research, Ohio State University (EcoCAR project).
