Curriculum vitae

Simon joined the Department of Political and Social Sciences of the University in Bologna in Fall 2021 as a PhD student. In his dissertation he investigates the impact of news media and online public discussions on parties' issue responsiveness using quantitative text analysis.

He completed his Bachelor's degree (2018) and Master's degree (2021) in Social Sciences at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. In 2019, he spent one year as an exchange student at the Paris School of International Affairs (PSIA) at Sciences Po, Paris.
Simon gained experience in the NGO sector during internships in the international offices of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung in Cyprus (2016) and Israel (2020). In 2021, he worked as trainee at the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission.

His research interests include: comparative politics, political communication, inequality, statistics, NLP.
