Saverio Giallorenzo is an assistant professor of Computer Science since 2020 at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of the University of Bologna. He is also a member of the INRIA project team FOCUS and of the Italian National Laboratory for Cybersecurity (Bologna node). He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science in 2016 from the University of Bologna. In 2018-2020 he was employed at the University of Southern Denmark (Odense) as a post-doctoral researcher.
He is the author of more than 30 publications in the fields of programming languages, distributed systems, and cloud computing. In 2018 he received the Seal of Excellence by the European Commission for the project "Choreographies for Energy-aware Reliable Internet-of-Things Systems" within the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions - Individual Fellowships 2018, Horizon 2020 programme. He is part of the Microservices Community, a European-based international community interested in the software paradigm of Microservices, as a member of three groups: Communication, Research, and Education.
