In 1994 I obtained the M.Sc. degree in Chemical Engineering (with honours) at the University of Bologna, followed in 1999 by the title of PhD in Chemical Engineering for the Environment and for Safety at the same university. Since 1998 I have been a researcher in Chemical Plants at DICMA - Department of Chemical, Mining, and Environmental Engineering, now DICAM - Department of Civil, Chemical, Environmental, and Materials Engineering of the University of Bologna. Since 2004 I have been in service in the definite time mode. My activity as a researcher has seen me mainly focused on teaching, with a marginal commitment to research. Both activities are mainly aimed at the safety of the process industry and the risk of major hazard accidents.
