The research activity focuses on measuring sustainability, in particular environmental, of products, processes, services and plans. Particular attention is paid to the application of integrated sustainability measurement metrics and methodologies to support the development of innovative solutions for the bio-remedy of environmental matrices, the implementation of sustainability at product, company and supply-chain levels. In parallel, the study of monitoring protocols of environmental parameters was carried out to support integrated sustainability in different environments (medical, transport), with particular reference to the monitoring of air quality and microclimatic parameters to favour the optimization of management of ventilation cycles, maintenance and accesses. The integration of research topics related, respectively, to the measurement of sustainability and the use of environmental data for its implementation, took place through participation in the European project "Re-Industrialise", within which the environmental data of air emissions from industrial plants included in the EU-ETS register were used as a basis for the creation of an innovative database of environmental and socio-economic data for the evaluation of the sustainable industrial transition processes implemented by the main European regions. This database was made available to the scientific community as an open-data source and presented in 2019 at discussion and planning tables of the European Commission (DG Regio and Just Transition).
