Sara Silvestrini

She is a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Cultural Heritage of Ravenna (University of Bologna). Her research is part of the European project FIRSTSTEPS - Our first steps to Europe: Pleistocene Homo sapiens dispersals, adaptations and interactions in South-East Europe - (Grant agreement ID:101019659). Her interest is focused on the study of proteins extracted from ancient samples (bones and teeth) for the estimation of sex and the determination of the species of both anthropological and archaeozoological remains. She works on Paleolithic contexts appliyng ZooMS technique in order to fully understand and reconstruct the faunal record taken into consideration.
