Short Bio

Sara Kasmaee is a mining engineer and she has got her PhD (2017) from University of Bologna- DICAM (Department of Civil, Chemical, Environmental and Material Engineering) in Geostatistics. Since 2017 she is a researcher working in various European projects. She has started working on GEOTeCH H2020, and since 2018, she is working on Raw Materials topics. She is an active member of RawMatCop group working on sampling optimization in stockpiles/tailings, Exploration of minerals, Geological mapping and Characterization of mining residuals for critical raw material recovery using Copernicus data, funded by EIT Raw Material. She participated in proposal preparation of INCO-Piles project (funded by EIT-RawMaterials), and was a researcher of the mentioned project in 2019 and 2020.

In 2022, she has received the SEAL OF EXCELLENCE for her proposal GEORESCUE, in Horizon Europe Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (Postdoctoral Fellowships 2022-Global Fellow).

Since 2022, she is the project manager and one of the trainers of RawMatCop-Advanced course (Funded by EIT-RawMaterials).
