Samir Galal Mohamed (Sassocorvaro, 1989) is a PhD student at the "G. M. Bertin" Department of Education Studies (EDU), Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna.
His research focuses on the history of education, with particular attention to Antonio Banfi's parliamentary activity as a Senator of the Italian Republic (1948–1957) and his advocacy for public and democratic education. His broader research interests include the relationship between schooling and democracy, as well as Italian educational policy from the postwar period to the present.
He is a member of CIRSE – Italian Centre for Historical-Educational Research, and a junior member of SIPed – Italian Society of Pedagogy.
