Said Quqa is a Tenure-Track Researcher at the Department of Civil, Chemical, Environmental and Materials Engineering (DICAM). His research activity primarily focuses on structural health monitoring of bridges and infrastructure at both local and regional scales. In particular, he develops methods for the identification of quasi-static bridge parameters using passing vehicles as excitation sources. He also works on remote monitoring through DInSAR techniques for the regional-scale analysis of bridge populations. Another research area concerns the study of elastic metamaterials and the development of reduced-order models in the presence of nonlinearities.
