I am a PhD candidate in Automotive Engineering for Intelligent Mobility at the University of Bologna. My research develops machine-learning and data-driven frameworks for the accurate state-of-charge (SoC) estimation of energy storage systems, including lithium-ion batteries and hybrid super-capacitors. Combining Gaussian process regression, LSTM networks and reinforcement learning with electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, I design estimators that are accurate, device-independent and deploy-able on embedded hardware such as STM32 microcontrollers and FPGAs. This work, carried out with the Universities of Parma and Florence, has appeared in IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement and at conferences including IEEE I2MTC and IMEKO. My interests span data-driven energy-storage management, electronic instrumentation and measurement, and the reliable deployment of AI on resource-constrained hardware, towards safer and more sustainable electric mobility.
