Research
The research focuses on monitoring the condition of emission-critical sensors on diesel engines while the vehicle is in operation, in view of the upcoming Euro 7 emission standards.
The main goal is to develop a method, based on real operating data rather than fixed thresholds, that can detect a sensor starting to degrade and estimate how severe the fault is, instead of only reacting once the sensor has already failed. The work focuses on key NOx-related sensors, and is carried out in collaboration with FEV Italia under the supervision of Prof. Nicolò Cavina.
