Short Bio

I am a PhD student enrolled in the Earth, Life, and Environmental Sciences program (39th cycle). I work on the 'Biodiversity Building Blocks for Policy - B3' project (b-cubed [https://b-cubed.eu/] ), funded by the Horizon Europe program, under the supervision of prof. Duccio Rocchini (Unibo) and the co-supervision of dott. Michele Di Musciano (UnivAQ).

My research focuses on the limitations of ecological models, with particular attention to how the quality and structure of biodiversity data affect their performance. A central component of my work is disentangling different sources of bias, such as sampling bias and temporal degradation, from a theoretical perspective in order to understand how they influence the reliability of Species Distribution Models (SDMs).

More broadly, I am interested in connecting existing ecological data analysis methods to develop more robust and transparent best practices, while explicitly addressing their limitations and providing appropriate guidance for their use.
