I am a PhD student enrolled in the Earth, Life, and Environmental Sciences program (39th cycle). I work on the 'Biodiversity Building Blocks for Policy - B3' project (b-cubed), funded by the Horizon Europe program, under the supervision of prof. Duccio Rocchini (Unibo) and the co-supervision of dott. Michele Di Musciano (UnivAQ). Specifically, I focus on simulating present and future biodiversity scenarios using data available from the GBIF network (Global Biodiversity Information Facility).
Currently, I am working on the sampling biases associated with real data to quantify the consequences of using such data to create Species Distribution Models (SDMs). My main interest is to establish connections between existing ecological data analysis methods in order to develop best practices. I am also very interested in studying the limitations of these methods to provide appropriate warnings when using them.
