He deals with various topics pertaining to clinical psychology and the context of psychological interventions to support well-being and health, working over the years on various health-related issues [obesity, chronic pain, stress, cardio-respiratory issues, eating disorders, disabilities, lifestyles] and various underlying processes [emotional regulation, experiential avoidance, impulsivity and hypercontrol].

A relevant theme concerns the promotion of healthy lifestyles and psychological well-being through evidence-based Cognitive-Behavioral and Behavioral interventions aimed at fostering Intentional Change and the development of sustainable, efficient, inclusive, and democratic scientific approaches to improving the human condition.

He is interested in the link between basic and applied science in the clinical setting, and in particular has focused his attention on the psychological processes underlying distress and how to trigger change through such principles
