Roberta Calegari is a tenure-track faculty member and Professor of AI at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and Alma AI at the University of Bologna. Her research lies at the intersection of AI, ethics, and law, with a focus on trustworthy AI, algorithmic fairness, AI compliance, and explainability. She coordinated AEQUITAS, a Horizon Europe project on fair and trustworthy AI, and currently leads Trustworthy AI & Compliance activities within the European IT4LIA AI Factory. She is Co-Founder and Chair of the AI Fairness Cluster, a European Commission-supported initiative bringing together major European projects on fairness and bias in AI, and contributes to European research strategy and policy on responsible AI. She serves as Associate Editor of ACM Computing Surveys, the Journal of Artificial Intelligence Research, and ACM AI Letters. She is the author of more than 100 peer-reviewed scientific publications.
