Keywords: petrography microstructure geochemistry fluid-rock interactions deep carbon cycle

I aim to study the impact of reducing fluids rich in hydrogen and methane, on the deformation behavior of common constituents of the Earth’s crust. I use Electron Backscatter Diffraction (EBSD) analyses to study the creep behavior of rock samples from different localities with a previously documented history of having been affected by the infiltration of reducing fluids.
