Rita Sorrentino

Fixed-term researcher at the University of Bologna since 2023, conducting research in the field of biological anthropology and paleoanthropology. Their research interests are focused on the study of foot and lower limb bone morphology to shed light on aspects related to the evolution of bipedalism and variations in modern humans. Their research employs virtual approaches to investigate bone morphology using methods such as geometric morphometrics and trabecular biomechanics.

Engaged in national and international research projects, they collaborate with various experts from different research fields, including archaeology, paleoanthropology, biomechanical engineering, digital radiography and computerized tomography, and orthopedics.
