Rita Gramellini is a PhD student in the 40th cycle of Modern Languages, Literatures and Cultures: Diversity and Inclusion – LINGMOD curriculum (Modern Languages Studies) at the University of Bologna, under the supervision of prof. Paola Puccini (supervisor) and prof. Valeria Zotti (co-supervisor). Her research focuses on the study of the specialised lexicon of cultural heritage through comparable corpora of travel literature, and on its translation using AI-based technologies.
She graduated with honours in Foreign Languages and Literature from the University of Bologna and obtained a master’s degree with honours in Language, Society, and Communication from the same university, presenting a thesis titled Promoting Cultural Heritage Tourism in Emilia-Romagna with the UniVOCIttà Project: Towards a Multilingual Literary Comparable Corpus and its Machine Translation.
She undertook study and research periods abroad at the Université de Paris Cité (France), Universiteit Leiden (Netherlands) and Université Paris 8 Vincennes-Saint-Denis (France). She has also presented her research at various national and international conferences.
