A PhD student in the Global Histories, Cultures, and Politics program (37 Cycle) to develop a project on the alternative commemorative practices and politics of mourning across post-Yugoslav space, with a particular focus on Srebrenica remembrance through coffee under the supervision of Prof. Paolo Capuzzo and Prof. Christina Demaria.
I got my BA in History in Lithuania (VMU), and after I decided to continue my studies in a more international environment to wider my curriculum. Therefore, I graduated from MIREES: MA Interdisciplinary Research and Studies on Eastern Europe programme (University of Bologna) with the thesis ʽ(Not)Dealing with the War Crimesʼ topic in post-Yugoslav cinema: Film as a Method of Reconciliation and Peace-Building, awarded summa cum laude.
I have studied and worked as trainee or volunteer at cultural and academic initiatives, as well as state institutions, in Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Switzerland, Italy, Croatia, Kazakhstan and the United States. I am passionate about foreign languages, so I speak Russian, Italian, Croatian, as well as native Lithuanian, and have the basics of Polish and Spanish.
