Riccardo Pronzato

Riccardo Pronzato is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Bologna. He attained a PhD with honours from IULM University and was recently a visiting researcher at the Digital Ethnography Research Centre (RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia). His research is mainly situated within the field of critical algorithm studies and analyses power asymmetries underlying the production of algorithmic media within corporate environments, how individuals relate with digital platforms, and, drawing on the framework of critical pedagogy, the development of strategies to promote critical data literacy. Now he’s applying his expertise on technology to the sociology of health, thus exploring the intersection of technological change, the future of healthcare and clinical practice. Specifically, he is working on projects aiming to co-design an e-learning platform for caregivers of patients with dementia and exploring artificial intelligence and dementia care in practice.
