Prof. Riccardo Baroncelli (BSc, MSc, PGC, PhD) has been a postdoctoral researcher in UK, France and Spain focusing his research on fungal genetics, genomics and population studies. During his professional path he has used Colletotrichum as main model systems to better understand the molecular mechanisms behind the interaction between fungi and plants. In his career he has published almost 60 papers in indexed journals and four book chapters.
Recently appointed as associate professor in plant pathology, he has been visiting lecturer at The University of Bedfordshire (UK) and the University of Sao Paulo (Brazil).
He is part of the Plant Pathology Lab and the Thematic Group (TG) "Plant Health" of DISTAL established in October 2020
