PhD candidate in Global Histories, Cultures and Politics (41st cycle) at the Department of History, Cultures, and Civilizations, with a research project in Contemporary History provisionally titled Aesthetics, Ideology, and Memory in the Visual Representation of the Sino-Albanian Alliance (1961–1978). Supervisor: Marica Tolomelli.
The research analyzes the propaganda of the political alliance between Albania and the People’s Republic of China (1961–1978), focusing in particular on posters, graphic materials, and photographs. Adopting an interdisciplinary approach that integrates art history, visual studies, and memory theory, the project aims to examine the role of this visual heritage in shaping the political and cultural identity of socialist Albania and to explore how, in its contemporary re-interpretation, it continues to inform and shape the institutionalized narrative of memory and national identity in present-day Albania.
