Rainer Andergassen (born 12 September 1974, Bolzano, Italy) is
an Associate Professor of Political Economy at the department of economics of the University of Bologna. He obtained a bachelor degree with distinction
from the University of Bologna (1997), a Master Degree in Economics
with distinction from the University College London (2000) and a
Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Siena (2002). He was the Director of Studies of the two-year international Master degree in "Economics and Market Policy" (www.emp.unibo.it) from October 2012 to October 2015 and in "Resource Economics and Sustainable Development" (www.resd.unibo.it) from October 2014 to June 2016. Among his
research interests are the dynamics of technical progress and
economic growth, economic development and executive compensation. He has authored or
co-authored several papers in refereed international journals,
including Economics Letters, Journal of
Economic Behavior and Organization, Journal of Economic Dynamics
and Control.
