Hi, I’m Rachelle Hangsleben, an English teacher, professor, musician, and mom living in Bologna, Italy. My journey of teaching English through music began when I started singing to my unborn daughter in English—a simple act of love that grew into Baby Musical Playground and Book it!, a joyful teaching method that helps children learn language through song, movement, and creativity. Over the past 20 years, I’ve shared this approach with families, schools, and teachers and future teachers across Italy, inspiring kids to connect with English in a natural, playful way. While teaching first and second-year-students in the education department at UNIBO I helped my students not only raise their basic level of English but also encouraged them to consider creative and alternative teaching methods to use as future teachers.

With over 20 years experience teaching children and adults using creative and interactive methods, Rachelle is considered a language expert specialized in building student confidence and promoting English oral and written communication and comprehension skills. Rachelle creates animated learning situations where students are the protagonists of the lesson and are inspired to learn and the desire to continue learning is instilled in them. Getting to know her students helps her to build a curriculum based on their interests and strengths and weaknesses. Finishing her Master's in Education has given Rachelle more opportunities to do teacher trainings and has continued to share her passion of improving English language education
