Qasim Ali is a PhD student in the Solid Earth section of the Department of Physics and Astronomy (DIFA). His research interests include seismic tomography, ambient noise tomography, seismic interferometry, and time-lapse seismic monitoring. His work focuses on imaging the shallow Earth structure beneath Southern Italy using surface-wave ambient noise tomography, as well as monitoring crustal velocity variations in the Val d’Agri oil reservoir area. His research aims to improve the understanding of subsurface structure, fault systems, and temporal seismic velocity changes in the southern Apennines.
